how to create a headline/text graphic
IMAGES/BACKGROUNDS AS TEXT
STEP 1: CREATE THE LAYER. When you open Photoshop, click "New" and set the image to 30"x30" (30"=2160 pixels). Remember to title your project to avoid confusion and save time.
|
STEP 2: Add your text using the text tool on the left. Size it as large as you can and make sure it is the correct/wanted font.
|
STEP 5: Use the wand tool located on the left toolbar to select the space you want to remove while on the text layer. To select more than one area, hold down the shift key and continue selecting. Once you have completed this, click on the image layer and press the backspace key.
If you hide the text layer by clicking on the eye box to the left of the layer, you will see that your image is now your headline. Crop out the blank space if needed and remember to save the image as a PNG.
**NOTE**: You can do the reverse of this where the text is the blank space by either making the text white and saving the image as a JPEG, or selecting the text area to delete on the image instead. |
